Scraptember Layouts!
Playing along, a little bit, with the Scraptember crew this year. My Instagram account @melly.art.creates has all the posts so far that I’ve done either on my own or for the, specifically. Here are a few I thought I would share here..
This was a scraplift prompt. I took a layout from Khristina Sorge, from Redefined Kreative, flipped it around and created this, using Cocoa Vanilla Studio Happiness collection. Lots of patterns for me!
Another prompt was a Grid style. I pulled out some more Cocoa Vanilla, and played with this design.
I have a major love for using hexagons! More Cocoa Vanilla. Trying to get my stash used up some before I get Daydream, so I have room to store it! I have a tendency to hoard my CVS collections.
There are more prompts coming! Black and white, mixed media, long title .. I’ll have a post as well for CurCardstock coming up as well!

ScrapSmarter - Khristina Sorge!

ScrapSmarter Experience w/ Layle PT 2
I finished the final 3 “hidden doors” Layle Concur shared at this event. This was one of my favorites! I can’t wait to create more of these in my mini albums, and maybe even try them in my regular albums. How fun they would be! Oh the possibilities.
So this is a Dutch Oven door. Two separate doors that open, This particular one I made cohesive, but on another one thy could be very different when opened....

These were so fun, adding those stamped images to these, gave it the perfect touch. I love all things I can find with Dachshunds on it. Its so hard to find, so when you do, you buy them!

They turned out too cute with the Alcohol markers! I tried to get them similar to my puppies, take some practice, but I will keep trying and get there at some point. They're still adorable!
The Waterfall Doors. I've used something similar to this making cards. However I never thought to use it in an ablum, mini or otherwise! Not sure this would work on a normal page, but I would give it a try. here are the pages.

I can't wait to get pictures and additional layers and embellishments on these. I am just so in love with these "Hidden Doors"! There are no words!
This is the final door. The French Door. I kept this simple for now, I'm sure that when i go to create this album, I may add some thing more to this to break up that pattern a little bit and such. I am after all a Maximilist! haha
I just used some twine to tie this, once the pictures are in and its fully embellished it will look amazing.
I am so excited to start working on this album! I have so many pictures of my dogs, its insane! This will be perfect to keep them in! I see many more mini albums and hidden doors in my future. Thank you for stopping by!

ScrapSmarter Experience W/ Layle

This is a Dog Door and an Oven! I love all the silly names Layla made for these. Who would have thought of these new, imaginative, creative ways to add some fun to mini albums. I just to create them all.
This was fun! The inside so completely different than the outside! Being able to create these hidden doors adds a whole new perspective to how I create. The possibilities are endless!

Aunt Vibes and Sunbursts!
Hello! One of my favorite things to scrapbook are my nieces and nephews! Every year, I take my sisters yearly family photo. It always so much fun, I have to take literally 450 pictures just to get one good one, cause they are so goofy! Totally worth it though, cause while she is taking their individual photos, I get to spend time with them. I usually get photos with all of them, but as they get older, they don’t want any more pictures than the absolutely have to have taken. However, my darling niece Arianna is never too old to get her taken with Aunt Melly. I treasure these photos. And this particular layout is getting hung on my wall! I used the amazing sunburst stencil from Redefined Kreative as a template for this, and of course epoxy flair from the fabulous ScrappinHappy Studio, and sequins from the amazing SpiegelMom Scraps!

Fall Fun Blog Hop with CutCardstock!
Thank you all so much for following along with us today! So far you should have been too the CutCardstock Blog, Niki, and came from Teri! At the bottom of my post will be the links for the next blog on your journey!
So for this blog hop I decided to step out of my comfort zone of Scrapbook pages and wall decor and try my hand at a card! I do enjoy sending cards with my “Melly Art” pieces and I also love to send cards to friends and family to cheer them. I’m going to briefly show you what I did and a few steps on how I did it!
Here is what I came up with. One of my favorite stamp sets and embossing folder, with some distress oxide, coloring, sequins, and nuvo. Card making isn’t my greatest creative outlet, but I was happy with this one. I must have been channeling my inner “Card Ninja” Sister ❤️
Starting with Cougar White, and Neenah white cardstock, square dies, my favorite fall stamps, and my fall colors of distress oxides. I used the cougar white for stamping, and cut 2 squares with the dies from it as well. The Neenah white I used as my card base. It’s heavy weight is perfect.
Using daubers from scrapbook.com, I added the distress oxide inks directly to the embossing folder. I spritz the inks with a spray of water, added the already cut square and ran through my side kick. Afterwards, using some Antique Linen oxide Ink, filled in around the leaves to alleviate any white.
I colored my stamped images, and fussy cut them out. Using a circle punch, punched a platform for my sentiment, and using a smaller rectangle die, got the background for card itself. Used creamy brown to add just a little color to off set all the white.
And here it is! Glued everything down.. popped up the sentiment and the pumpkin.
No project is complete without SpiegelMom sequins and Nuvo drops!

Fussy Cutting is your Friend!
I know a lot of you hate to fussy cut. I wasn’t always a fan. However, when I do it, I am so happy with the results, makes it all worth it. I fussy cut a whole sheet of Cocoa Vanilla paper, and used an older photo of my niece, and I just love how it turned out. Fussy Cutting is worth it❤️
Without all that time and love, this gorgeousness would never be...
Start small, a butterfly, or a single flower. Some papers were made to Fussy Cut. 🤷🏼♀️
