6x8 Art Journal Die Cut Page

Hello Crafty Friends!
My very first post!  So Exciting!
As many know, i have been following along with the amazing Vicki Boutin and her #APRILCREATIVE2020 challenge.    I am a little behind, so I need to get caught up.   Today, I am working on that.   I just finished Day 23.  The Art and Color prompts are Stamps - Green, Peach, Mint, and Yellow.  And this is what I came up with!  I Love how it came out, and cant wait to get y photo printed and on here!  Here are a few pictures of the process, and some quick details on how you can create something similar in your own style.

So, I started with a 6x8 sheet of Vicki Boutins' Foundations Paper, its my Favorite!  I used her Watercolor Markers as well, Watermelon Burst and Mint Julip.  Using her "kissing" technique added several layers of color blending them in the middle.  Once that was dried and flattened over night, I used the gorgeous Perfectly Perfect stamp set from Altenew and stamped around the edge of the paper with Catherine Poolers' Midnight ink pad.  Once dried I fussy cut around the entire outside edge of the paper.

Using Tim Holtz Specialty Stamping Paper, stamped the same flowers.  Using some Distress Oxide and water, I created a few different shades of peach, with some yellow accents that ran through them.  Adding more pigment in some areas than others.

I used these 4 fabulous colors to create an array of different shades and colors.  Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple, Mustard Seed, and Dried Marigold.  Adding some water and using a brush, water-colored the stamped images and let them dry.

I also used Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, Jade Green Shades and  Alpine Green Blend,  to color in some stamped leaves and foliage.   After everything is nice and dry, I fussy cut all of them out.   A labor of love.  And Absolutely worth the time it took....

After they are all cut out, I laid them out to get an idea of where i wanted the extra flowers to go, if i wanted some to pop up off the paper, if i wanted any layered on top.   Some of them were already decided where they were going, to cover the original stamped flowers... but there were a few extra, purposely,  You just never know what, or where, a project is going to take you.

Here it is!  All glued down, some popped up on foam, some are layered on top, leaving room for my photo prompt,I believe the 23rd was Hallway.. but that needs cleaned before I take that picture.   4 dogs will leave hair and dust, its a dog owners life, what can I say.

I hope this has inspired you to join in the challenge the fabulous Vicki Boutin has extended, its never to late to jump in and create something.

Happy Crafting!

xoxo,
