Sneak Peeks!

So, I haven’t done much since the Wedding Blog hop, and I need to start working on my next CutCardstock DT project, I’m thinking Whiteout!  They are my favorite ❤️
Here are a few sneaks of a few things I have in the works for the April Creative Challenge.   Which is now just Creative Challenge.  I’m going to leave it April, cause it’s done, I just need to finish a few things outside of the daily prompts 😁

Thanks for stopping by!

I really love ombré and rainbows right now.   And I totally have fallen in love with Nuvo Expanding mousse!   Still need som practice with it, but not bad for a first time.

Butterflies and watercolor blowing!  Going to try this with some different shapes and the blowing going every direction.   I Love learning from Vicki Boutin.   If you don’t already, go follow her, she’s awesome!  ❤️❤️

Stamping isn’t one of my favorites, however, I am being drawn over to the dark side, cause I love to color!   Once my book is finished, I may attempt to do a quick video, just music, and show what I’ve done with all the prompts!

                        Happy Crafty!

Weddings are taking on a new look these days, but they’re still happening, and are oh so beautiful!    I created a layout featuring the gorgeous bride, with mixed media elements and pulling inspiration from the beautiful picture itself!   Here we go!

I started with wanting to recreated the flowers in my photo.   I chose to use a cut file from Paige Evans.  Using my favorite Cougar White Cardstock, I used a number of different watercolor mediums to create the backing for the cut file.  Starting with some Shimmerz Paintz Lilac Blossom, and next blending Nuvo Embellishment Mousse Lilac Lavender overlapping the dried paint so it blends into the next color.   The final color I really wanted to capture the purple color of those flowers..

I used the Lovely Vicki Boutin iridescent glaze, mixed with her Plum Pudding watercolor marker, and her purple pigment from her watercolor set.   Used. A mister to water it down and mix well.  Blending some with the previous color, and continuing down the paper to create a beautiful purple ombré for backing the cut file.

Now with the flowers all ready to be backed, I needed something for the leaves.  Something similar to the purple, but not distracting.   Those flowers with my picture are the star.    Before backing these flowers, those watercolors need to dry completely, otherwise trying to cut wet paper is a nightmare, not to mention trying to glue wet paper!

Using some more Vicki Boutin products, the iridescent glaze and, this time using the cool Art Crayons set, adding water to use as a water color, created a two toned backing for the leaves. Also uses the Cougar White Cardstock.  It does very little buckling when water is added.

While waiting for the watercolor sheets to dry, I wanted to add some glitter.  It’s my favorite after all. Using a technique I learned from Vicki Boutin,  I grabbed her Matte Acrylic Gel, and Nuvo Mermaid Parade Loose Glitter,  creating a glitter paste.  I put it through a stencil where I wanted my picture and also the opposite corner.

While I’m waiting for all these to dry, I pull out some different shades of purple.  I pulled Pop Tone Grape Jelly, and 2 other shades I had in my stash and layered shades of purple behind my photo, ending with the Crest Solar White Cardstock.

Paper is dry!   Using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive, I glued the cut file down onto the purple.  After cutting off the excess paper, I glued it down to the green and trimmed off the excess as well.   I missed that picture with the green, but you’ll see here in a second how this turned out!  Also, while waiting for all these elements to dry, I fussy cut some foiled butterflies, gathered some Epoxy Flair from ScrappinHappyStudio, the Butterfly Watercolor set.  Picked out the thickers for my title,  as well as the Nuvo Colors.

I used Rockabye Foam Thicker from American Crafts I found at JoAnns some time again.   I went with the white because I used Nuvo drops to pop them out with.  I went with the Plum Pudding, Raspberry Pink, and the new Sugar Plum Glitter.

Adding the finishing touches to a layout is my favorite part.  Popped up butterflies, flair, additional nuvo drops, using Purple Basil Vintage Drops, Plum Slate Stone Drops, and the Violet Galaxy Crystal Drops.
